Steps for painting kitchen and bathroom furniture
First, it is important to note that kitchen and bathroom furniture can be painted either assembled or disassembled. The decision depends on how convenient it is for you, depending on the size of the furniture, the complexity of disassembling and reassembling it or even the space the furniture occupies in the kitchen (height, difficult access to certain parts, etc.). Most people paint their furniture and cabinets when they are fully assembled. This is the fastest and most efficient way.
The process of painting them is as follows:

1. Preparation.
Clean furniture thoroughly with our Autentico Omniclean to remove dirt and grease. Mix about 10 parts water with 3 parts Omniclean.
It is not necessary to sand the furniture before painting it, although it is recommended in these two cases:
1. If the surface is not stable, that is, if the varnish or paint on the furniture is peeling off, use sandpaper to stabilize the surface. Heavy sanding is not necessary. Just make sure the surface is stable again.
2. If your kitchen is very shiny, we recommend opening up the pores. This is the case when painting on surfaces such as melamine or other shiny surfaces. In this case, it is only necessary at this stage and then you should clean again with Omniclean.
2. Primer
For better adhesion, apply a coat of Autentico Primer with a roller or brush. Let dry for about 4 hours before applying the paint.
3. Painting with Autentico Versante
Apply one coat of Versante and allow four hours to dry before applying the second coat.
You can choose between Versante Matte, for an ultra-matte finish, and Versante Eggshell, which leaves a smooth finish with the sheen of an eggshell.
Two coats are usually sufficient, although this may vary depending on the porosity of the substrate or the color you choose.
4. Sealing/varnish?
Sealing or varnishing is often not necessary because Versante contains a moisture-resistant membrane.
In some cases, however, this can provide even more protection.
If the surface is exposed to sharp objects such as knives or other kitchen utensils, we recommend applying two coats of our floor varnish (matte or satin) for extra protection.
If you paint your kitchen in a dark color, such as Nocturnal or Nearly Black, Black Hills, etc., and use Versante Matt, you may see white spots when you touch it with your fingertips or fingernails. This is due to the high chalk content and can be prevented by applying a thin coat of our clear polish.
